Requirements :
- Grade 10 plus Grade C PSIRA Certificate in Security Management and must be registered with PSIRA, coupled with 2 years working experience in security management environment. Competencies: Knowledge of Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act, Access Control Procedures, Trespass Act; Skills in dealing with the public; Ability to communicate well with people at different levels and from different background; High level of reliability; Ability to handle confidential information; Sound, verbal, and written communication skills; Ability to act with tact and discretion; Ability to deal with the people; Good telephone Etiquette and interpersonal skills; Must be able to work under pressure, take initiative, and work independently and with a team; Self-motivated; Must be prepared to rotate and work shifts which include weekends, night and day shift and public holidays; Must not have a criminal record. A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage. The appointed candidates will be expected to report to PDMC and Johannesburg.
Duties :
- Protect state properties, employees, visitors in the facility 24 hours; Access control and searching of both vehicles and pedestrians; Report security breaches and defects to the Assistant Director: Physical Security and Security Management unit; Escort visitors and contractors; Write statement and incidents reports and submit to supervisor; Write and submit reports to supervisor as soon as possible; Conduct hourly patrol; Control of traffic on premises; Provide directions to staff, visitors and contractors; Operate and maintain security equipment’s; Monitor all surveillance security systems/cameras within the Control room in an efficient manner and in compliance with the operating procedures, legislation and best practice; Record all events, incidents and actions taken in a clear, legible and accurate written format; Ensure the security of the control room and equipment’s is maintained at all times and to report equipment failure to the Security Admin officer or Security Management; Operate X Ray Machine Equipment and Metal Detectors; Operate Alarm intruder control panel; Comply with security dress code always; Perform other duties as allocated by the supervisors; Comply with duty roster; Be willing to undergo continuous training and development Programme; Attend meetings as approved by the supervisor.

Duties :
- The incumbent will be responsible for amongst others: Providing legal advice and opinion assistance to the Department. Handling litigation matters involving the Department. Providing inputs into agreements, vetting of contracts and drafting of memoranda of understanding entered into by the Department with other parties. Providing advice on the interpretation and application of legislation administered by the Department. Handling internal and external enquires of a legal nature. Representing the Department at various committees. Liaising with the State Attorney’s Office and other organs of State in protecting the interest of the Department. Provide supervision and training of junior staff.
