Requirements :
- Qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse).
- Current registration with SANC as Enrolled Nurse and provide proof.
- Minimum of 2 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as an Enrolled Nurse and Drivers Licence will be an advantage.
Duties :
- Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing statutes, and other relevant legal principles.
- Basic communication skills, listening, interpersonal skills, elementary writing skills, ability to lead a team and function as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Bathopele Principles and Patient’s right Charter.
- Must be prepared to work in the community, work weekends and public holidays when need arises.
- Manage and supervise a team of Community Health Workers (CHWs) assigned to a Health Facility and providing community-based services at ward level.
- Team leader will spend 70% of his/her time in the community supporting CHWs when doing home visits and 30% in the office doing team administration work.
- Organise campaigns to address health related diseases/conditions affecting the community.
- Improve poor performing indicators of the facility and District.
- Ensure work allocation to the team and monitor performance (PMDS).
- Liase with Ward Councillors (with the assistance of Facility Manager) and other community structures with regards to overall activities of Community Health Workers in the community.
- Facilitate training and weekly in-service for Community Health Workers.
- Attend meetings, trainings and give feedback to the team.
- Manage resources allocated to the team.
- Compile monthly reports and submit to Facility Manager.
